Ollie, the perfect Mini GoldenDoodle. I visited my friend/co-worker in the country (Dobson, NC, about 45 minutes away from me) on Saturday, November 29, 2025. I had a BALL! Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt
Lily (or as I call her, “Lily Girl.”), a Red Golden Retriever. She and Ollie are Niece and Uncle. LOL! Lily is my friend’s dog, and Ollie is my friend’s parents’ dog. I kept thinking about how Jernee would have had a great time with them, simply lying in the grass and enjoying the sun. Saturday, November 29, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt
I swear, this could be the corn field from Children of the Corn. I mean, when you’re in the country, you take photos of corn fields. You just do. LOL! Saturday, November 29, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt
My Snoopy sweater, because YAAAASSSS!!! It made everyone who saw me that day smile. Saturday, November 29, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt

Thursday, December 04, 2025, chilling in my dentist’s office, in the waiting area. My dental hygienist, while cleaning my teeth, kept saying, “Your teeth are just so clean, Tre. Goodness! They’re so clean.” Every time I go there, they compliment me on my smile and my teeth. My mouth is actually featured in photos on their website. Lawd, help. I’m particular about my oral hygiene. I’m SUPER DUPER anal retentive. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt
Christmas Decorations at the dentist’s office. I just love their little tree. Thursday, December 04, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt
In between exams at my Optometrist/Cornea specialist’s office. For those of you who do not know, I have an eye disease called keratoconus, and I am monitored twice per year to continue to keep surgery at bay. GOOD NEWS! The eyes are the same; no changes, and there’s no need for surgery at this time. The hoodie is an item created by Ernio Hernandez, a dope artist & writer, who is in a class all by himself. Dude is out in left field with his art, and I love it! Thursday, December 04, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt

Have you gotten your copy of SéduireSerial Tales & Flash Fiction at Lulu in E-Book Paperback versions, or Amazon in Paperback (only) yet?

I am on Substack as well. Poking the Bear’s Belly for Fun is a place of healing as I speak about recent events with a previous place of employment, as it pertains to racism and discrimination, growth from the transition after resigning from that company, and life’s foibles and overall experiences. I welcome your visit.

#5: Old Faithful

The Lone Old Faithful. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt

On my boss’s land, there are
Old Faithfuls resting, one
day–they’ll be restored and
re-introduced to the crazy
roads of North Carolina.

I smiled as I walked around
hours of land, taking in the
beauty of their full-bodied
presence.
Soon, there will be hands
prepping them for new life.

I stumbled upon one with
a rustic vibe–tucked neatly
in a corner of land far away
from the others.
Is this one special, I thought…

Why else would it be
given its own slice of
God’s creation, while all the
others fight for space?

Could it be The Chosen One?

I recently signed up to write on Substack as well. Poking the Bear’s Belly for Fun is a place of healing as I speak about the most recent events with my place of employment, as it pertains to racism and discrimination. I welcome your visit.

Photos From This Past Weekend

Holding on in “the times of trouble.”

Sunrise or Sunset? Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt (This is actually from Wednesday, February 26, 2025, but I just had to share it).
My best friend Mook and I, many years ago. I think this may have been in 2006 or 2007. She shared this with me on Saturday, March 01, 2025.

My favorite girl. Jernee had a seizure on Sunday morning. This is her resting after I gave her a haircut and a bath. Sunday, March 02, 2025. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt

“When it rains, it pours.” On Sunday, March 02, 2025, Jernee Timid had a seizure. It was a light episode, lasting about two minutes, and it was the first time she had one. I’ve been mentally preparing for Jernee’s transition for a few years now. The Little Monster is a fighter and seems to fight her way out of every traumatic event that has occurred to her. But this . . . this, I will not tolerate. I will not have her form a life of convulsions and episodic seizures. I just WILL NOT.

She has an appointment next Thursday with her vet for lab work and an overall checkup. They may do some other tests as well while we’re there. However, if she has another seizure, I am to call them and bring her in straight away or go to our Emergency Vet’s office. If the little one makes it to April 06, 2025, she will be 17 years old. But I have to be honest, folks . . . this really took a lot out of her, and I won’t be mad at her one bit if she doesn’t see her seventeenth birthday. I don’t want her suffering, and I will see to it that she does not.

Here’s hoping all of you had a great weekend and that you’ll have a wondrous week ahead as well.

Peace and blessings.

Sights and Scenes and a Haiku

So far, the lovely State of Alaska has given me so many memories and I will have extremely beautiful visions in my head for years to come. Thankfully, both flights were smooth, with minimal turbulence and I found myself sleeping both ways; from Charlotte, NC to Phoenix, AZ then from Phoenix, AZ to Anchorage, AK. I am happy that this was the case.

I landed on time each time with only one snafu. During the Phoenix connection, several of us were not alerted to the fact that there was a gate change so we found ourselves booking it from one end of the airport to another in order to make the flight within three minutes.

Let me tell you, that was a scary experience and gave me anxiety that shot THROUGH THE ROOF, however, I was amazed at how quick-on-my-feet I was in assisting one of my flight-mates in encouraging her to run or walk fast and that we’d surely make it because she was so much more frantic than I was. We made it, of course, and smiles stuck to our faces within minutes of the connection.

So far, I’ve experienced Girdwood and its beautiful mountains, hidden waterfalls, and wide open spaces and Portage for the Alaska Wildlife Conservation Center. And now, for the photos:
