freezes us again#haikuchallenge #NaPoWriMo2021 #haiku

routine
NaPoWriMo #30
I wake up to the sound
of heavy rain landing
in puddles on the ground
the dog snores then exhales
I push myself up
from the comfort of a bed
that loves me more than
this weather ever could
10 hours ahead of me
screening and registering
patients, and the beat
goes on . . .
morning–afternoon delight
NaPoWriMo #29
squirrels click clack on the roof
and race to each side
a scramble to catch ass?
Mother Nature moves on &
the way of life presents itself
in sync with spring.
morning-afternoon delight
without my consent.
little tree climbers
not as sneaky
as I thought,
public sexshow. #Poetry— 𝔸 ℂ𝕠𝕣𝕟𝕖𝕣𝕖𝕕 𝔾𝕦𝕣𝕝 (@trEisthename) April 29, 2020
Damage Control
NaPoWriMo #28
some people build their lives
on tearing down others
their world, full of torment
and bad tastes in their mouths.
I steer clear, stay in my lane,
and only swerve when they’re
nowhere in sight.
I’m damage control,
controlling how much damage
enters my life. #NaPoWriMo #Poetry— A Cornered Gurl (@trEisthename) April 28, 2020
blessed sadness
NaPoWriMo #27
I remind myself
that amongst the suffering
I am breathing
I am healthy
I am here
thousands upon thousands
into millions
will never have the
chance to say
those words again
that’s the reality
of a new, messed up
normal#NaPoWriMo #Poetry #Writing #Life #Death #Pandemic

Alone with my Loneliness
NaPoWriMo #26
I don’t stare at it
I give myself time away
from its demands.
we aren’t the best of friends
we aren’t the worst
I’ve learned to ignore
my loneliness.
there are three basic rules;
no water after midnight
no hoarding past loves
& absolutely no going back
to what I left.— A Cornered Gurl (@trEisthename) April 26, 2020
