We had a home visit last night with this beautiful little one that you see me holding. Needless to say, my senior little one Jernee is NOT having it! The Foster Mom/Shelter Rep and I both agreed that she’d be better off in another home. I am happy to have gotten a chance to cuddle with this baby and connect with her on a small scale.
It’s my old lady Jernee and I until it’s not. *Just look at her eyes!* But my heart is loyal to Jernee, she calls the shots. I just wish she’d be open to letting me love another little one as much as I love her. She’ll be eleven soon and her overprotective/possessive/jealous ways set the tone for our home. I have learned that Jernee will not make it a welcome space for a puppy and that hurts, but that’s life.

Aww… this is making me melt….

I know, right?! Monterey clung to me, didn’t wanna let me go. I almost cried, I was so hurt. But, I have Jernee and she still gives me such happiness.

that little girl looks like she’d grow into a sizable doll….you know what’s best…and if not, Jernee is certainly there to remind you….those eyes, those beautiful sad Jernee eyes…..good for you for trying though…. hugs to all ❤

Oh, Tre… what a tough decision you had to make. You made the right one, though. I hope Monterey finds a home where she’ll get all the love and attention she needs.

I hope she does too, Mags. She’s such a sweet baby. 💙

Awww, both dogs are so sweet. Those eyes! But sounds like you made the right decision (though painful). Our pets can be pretty possessive. Good of you to try though.

Yes, ma’am. Thank you.

Could you take Jernee to the shelter and see if any of the dogs interested her? One of our daughters fosters dogs and says it’s always best to let them meet on neutral territory, or at least not in their own homes.

They came to our home for a home visit. So, Jernee was home and the pup was fine. That’s the shelter’s protocol. She wasn’t the issue. Jernee was. She was very mean and I’m not subjecting any other little one to that. I’m exhausted and torn because I’d been searching for a few weeks… Jernee’s nearly eleven. Lol. She’s just not having it.

Hi trE! Sounds like the best decision for all. I got a second dog, which made my first become aggressive toward him. It was terrible.
You’re a great Mama to Jernee!

Thank you, Patty. Yeah, Jernee was pretty mean last night. I was rather surprised and quite uncomfortable. I was really upset with her, but I couldn’t be for long.

It’s the same with my cat. She fetched me from paying attention to horses not once but a few times! Don’t dare to bring another animal in. So I understand.

That look in Jernee’s eyes says “No way Mom. I am not sharing you with anyone else!”

I hear ya. I’d have had others, too, but my Zoe-dog won’t let me. How lovely, though, that you are able to share your love at the shelter.

A good call, but a tough one. Beautiful shots of you – you’re glowing with love for those little ones!

Thank you, Jane. That sweet baby didn’t wanna let me go. I claimed her, she claimed me, but Jernee… claimed me first. I’m tore up about it, but I’ll manage. I just have way too much love to give and I feel as though I may burst. 😊
