Mandy Patinkin Has a Powerful Message|Hope Still Lives

And it nearly crushed my heart, but I’m glad he said it; I’m just saddened that he had to.

Mandy Patinkin’s Urgent Message to Jews Worldwide

Patinkin grew up in an upper-middle-class family, descended from Jewish immigrants from Russia and Poland, and was raised in Conservative Judaism, attending religious school daily from the age of seven to 13 or 14 and singing in synagogue choirs, as well as attending the Camp Sura in Michigan.

hope still lives, or at least, I think it does

many of us don’t
really have a heyday
to refer to–shouldn’t
we all–isn’t that
some sort of
requirement to doing
life the way it should
be done?!

I could be
overthinking this as
I typically do with
all things, but in my
head, it makes sense
for this to make
sense.

I know I can’t be the
only one.
I hope I’m not the
only one.

but it wouldn’t be
the first time, and
that, somehow, is
oddly relieving.

the carelessness of the few & a griseous morning

Two poems written on Substack notes

the carelessness of the few

if millions of breathing beings
proscribed evildoers and those greedy
enough to shake down the poor and
oppressed, we wouldn’t be dancing
in a pit of flames, trying our best to
outrun the burn.

but here we are…
walking on lit coal, struggling to stay
sane, and clapping away fire that aligns
itself with our truths.
we had the tools to succeed politically,
however, many were afraid to see how
well they worked.

and now, we’re all
drowning in this
inescapable Hell.

a griseous morning

morning isn’t sashaying over to
me as it’s done the
past few days.

it appears sullen,
griseous, and
downtrodden.

I don’t have the
words to heal the ache it feels, but
I offer a few anyway.

it wanders around my home,
anxious to see which one of us
will break first.

I’ve got news for it…
it won’t be me.

raw-dogging America because they can & giver

Two poems shared on Substack notes

raw-dogging America because they can

the current
administration will
gainsay any and
every question asked
of them and their
position on a certain
batch of files.

if you’ve gotta do
that much lying
and pussyfooting
around the topic,
how safe are your
words?

how safe are you?

giver

when you’re a giver,
it doesn’t hit you
how much people
take away from you
until you feel like
emotionally… you
have nothing left
to give.

and then, you have
to remember to
burnish your soul
in order to restore
YOU.

talking points

NaPoWriMo #26|A Tanka

political talk
shakes up our nation so fast
we’re built on these lies
this administration knows
its power dethrones others

The Story Is Gold

It’s America
Baked in lies
This story is gold

Pawns in a new game
Of trick chess
The polls will drown us

But we’ll place ballots
For old sins
That never finds sleep

A new tale to tell
Unhinged truth
Glorified beauty

Right Is Right and Wrong Is Wrong.

And when wrong has gotten out of control, people speak up!

Breaking things down professionally and respectfully.

When we are money-hungry and crave power over humans’ actual existence and well-being, many countries suffer; many people suffer. Death knocks on multiple doors and takes its reward.

Google Sudan. Research the recent occurrences in the Democratic Republic of Congo. Look up the history of Haiti. Your mind will be blown away.

Greed breeds power. Power breeds evil. Evil breeds the death of many to get back to greed.

Ukraine’s president, Volodymyr Zelenskiy, has imposed sanctions on 37 Russian groups and 108 people including a former prime minister and a former education minister and said he aimed to fight wartime abductions of children from Ukraine and other “Russian terror”.

Ukrainian officials said on Saturday that the armed forces shot down 29 of 38 drones in an overnight raid. More than 400 towns and villages in the south, south-east and north of the country were affected by the drone attacks, including an oil refinery that was hit in Odesa.

Ukrainian troops are working to push back Russian forces positioned on the east bank of the Dnipro River, the military has said, a day after Ukraine claimed to have secured multiple bridgeheads on that side of the river that divides the country’s partially occupied Kherson region.

The Guardian

I’m extremely over the overlord of Russia and his expectancies and over-elitist actions and presence, and he needs to be taken down several pegs.

It’s been nearly two years. I’ve one thing to say to him and any minions at his disposal, “Ain’t y’all tired yet?!”

Where is peace when you need it? Where is justice when it’s overdue? And why must so many fight to obtain both?! Why–because they’re tired, too. Doing right really isn’t hard.
