some people build their lives
on tearing down others
their world, full of torment
and bad tastes in their mouths.
I steer clear, stay in my lane,
and only swerve when they’re
nowhere in sight.

We, as individuals, really do have to be our own damage control, don’t we? After all, we are the only ones who can decide what and how we allow things to affect us. That’s actually an empowering realization. 🙂
