NaPoWriMo #13
Up at the sound
of a storm.
Alert on my phone
says, “Tornado Warning.
Take shelter now!”
& I immediately wonder
“How will I walk the dog?”
I have to turn off
my brain.
evidently, it’s not up
for thinking.
And work? Work is
calling. Maybe they’re not
thinking either. #Poetry— A Cornered Gurl (@trEisthename) April 13, 2020
I awakened this morning to the sounds of alerts, heavy rain, and high winds. A tornado passed through my area, but not my immediate location. Blessed doesn’t even begin to describe how I am feeling about that. I worked an almost 12-hour shift today and I am bone tired. I hope all of you have hugged your loved ones a little closer and a little tighter and that this evening will grant you peace and love.
