I’ve laid my burdens at His feet.

I will share “Something To Think About” for the next ten weeks on Sunday afternoons. It may be a quote, a picture, an interesting phrase I heard, artwork, etc. Whatever I share will surely be intriguing or involving enough to spark a casual discussion or in-depth conversation. Stay tuned every Sunday for this feature!
Peace and blessings.
Have you gotten your copy of my new book: a collection of serial tales & flash fiction, Séduire (E-Book and Paperback) yet? I recently signed up to write for Substack as well. My first post, “I Said I Wouldn’t Do It” is live. I welcome your visit.
Great quote Tre!

This has always been one of my go-to verses. Of course, Jeremiah is also one of my favorite prophets, because I resonate with his mood swings. How his emotional loop would inevitably bring him back to the source of his strength .His consolation … has been my experience as well.

It won’t let me add you! I’ve tried several times. It keeps saying you cannot be found, yet I can see your profile. 😩😩😩

I looked at my settings in the app, because I vaguely remember there being options about who can send friend requests. I’ll check it out later today on my laptop. I searched for you and nothing comes up.🤔 They’ll never keep us apart!

Haha. It’s almost like they’ll give us our profile information, but won’t let us connect. So bizarre!

I have also.
I went to church with an acquaintance and what aggravated me was how she just read her Bible. Through the beautiful music, never looking up. Barely acknowledged the pastor, when I said to her that you get more out of listening.
Still, I’d rather share an experience than watch my own online service. Being there is always better.
You have a blessed Sunday too! 🙏💕

I am trying to understand this . . . your acquaintance was actively reading the Bible during service and this aggravated you?
I guess I am not aware why this would aggravate someone. I would actually revel in the fact that someone I accompanied to church actively read the Bible in church. Some people are hands-on learners.
For you, listening and interacting may be most helpful. For your acquaintance, reading and digesting the Bible while at service is a better way of learning for them.
We never know what people are dealing with. There may have been some scriptures your acquaintance needed at that very moment, and honestly, that’s between them and God.

I guess you’re right. Why go to church to do that when -imo-you’re there to listen to his interpretation of the scriptures was my point.
I study at home, being at church is a different matter to me. But like you said, to each is own. I said as much in my Sunday message post. 🙂

People go to church for various reasons, Kim. Not just to hear the pastor’s interpretation of the word. They go for fellowship, to gather for peace (if it’s readily available), to connect and build and grow. To experience worship, learn, and I hope . . . read the Bible.
If your acquaintance got something out of her visit, I would say it’s a win. She probably wasn’t understanding the pastor’s delivery of the message and needed to read and reread to stay up with the flow. I have to do that myself during a lot of sermons.
*Shrugs* I hope she isn’t deterred to visit again. 🙏🏾🩵
