Holding on in “the times of trouble.”
“When it rains, it pours.” On Sunday, March 02, 2025, Jernee Timid had a seizure. It was a light episode, lasting about two minutes, and it was the first time she had one. I’ve been mentally preparing for Jernee’s transition for a few years now. The Little Monster is a fighter and seems to fight her way out of every traumatic event that has occurred to her. But this . . . this, I will not tolerate. I will not have her form a life of convulsions and episodic seizures. I just WILL NOT.
She has an appointment next Thursday with her vet for lab work and an overall checkup. They may do some other tests as well while we’re there. However, if she has another seizure, I am to call them and bring her in straight away or go to our Emergency Vet’s office. If the little one makes it to April 06, 2025, she will be 17 years old. But I have to be honest, folks . . . this really took a lot out of her, and I won’t be mad at her one bit if she doesn’t see her seventeenth birthday. I don’t want her suffering, and I will see to it that she does not.

Aw. I admire your view and courage about not wanting her to have an unnecessarily hard time, but hope she rebounds and is healthy for as long as possible.

Oh trE, we’re praying for little Jernee. 🙏🏼 She’s been such a fun companion. I know you’ve been trying to prepare yourself for the inevitable, but still you are not as prepared as you would like to be. There are so many memories and emotions of her surrounding you. Hang in there my friend and stay as strong as you possibly can. Love and hugs! 🤗💖😘

Oh, I feel so bad forJernee. It sounds like time is getting near. I’m happy you’ve kind of made peace with it.
As for other parts of your post, I’m guessing sunset, you are in pink in the picture, and I’m wondering do you mean every time you go to the basement, there’s a treasure to discover and take home?

It was sunrise, actually. I just love the way the sky is here. It’s always so beautiful whether it’s sunset or sunrise.
That’s artwork and beautiful things displayed in our basement. The fitness room is down there. We cannot take any of those items, I’m just admiring their beauty.

Is that Jernee in the photo of you and your friend from years ago, or a different dog? How neat is that if it is her. I hope she doesn’t have any more seizures. Aurora has seizures (because of epilepsy—I think you’ve read about them), and it is so hard to watch.

Actually, no. That was her first Boston Terrier in that photo of us. He’s been deceased now for at least 6-7 years, I think.
Yes, I’ve read about Aurora’s seizures. It’s so heartbreaking.

She is doing much better now. The last time she had seizure activity, she didn’t fall down on the ground and flail everywhere. God answers prayer one way or another. If this is as good as it gets, I am thankful.
