He’s eight now,
Time flies, wow!
Can’t keep my emotions intact
The little ones are growing so fast
I remember diaper-changing days,
Now that period has flown away.
I watch as he sprouts to the sky,
His beauty and loving heart soaring high.
Could it be just another year,
One destined to leave me in tears,
Or is it a momentous occasion,
A turn of time with persuasion,
And a final blow to my chest, OUCH!

Babies don’t keep. That’s a fact. Already 8… imagine. And what milestones they achieve as will you.
My baby #2 just turned 30 this week. 30!! I just don’t know how this sneaked up on me. I cried. You will cry too auntie trE. Wait till he’s 9 and then starts on double figures. Love will expand your heart. Just wait and see. All the best to this lovely young man. I bless him. Thanks for sharing. Xo

Thank you kindly, Selma! Yes, they grow up so fast! My kid sister is 26 now, and it just breaks my heart every time I hear her speak. I’m always thinking, “I was just bathing you and combing and styling your hair, how are you a teacher and a whole adult now?!” 😩😭😤

I have heard of reactions varying from “EEEUWW! Gross!” (very logical, IMHO) to “And some day, I’ll be changing yours!” which seemed out of place for a kid, until our 11-year-old grandniece demonstrated just that sort of ‘tude. 😊
