This past weekend didn’t last long enough. I was happy to catch up with fellow blogger, fiction and poetry WP phenomenon, K.L. Laettner. She doesn’t post on WordPress nearly as much as she used to, but you can still peruse her website. Also, check out her books, too! Jernee and Zumi were a TIME! But I do enjoy their company. They keep a smile on my face. I pray this week will be more than kind to all of you!
Have you gotten your copy of my new book: a collection of serial tales & flash fiction, Séduire (E-BookandPaperback) yet?
I recently signed up to write on Substack as well. Poking the Bear’s Belly for Fun is a place of healing as I speak aboutthe most recent events with my place of employment as it pertains to racism and discrimination. I welcome your visit.
Happy to read this post. You’re so good in the kitchen. Always makes me hungry. Lovely photos too. Canadian Geese— oh my, I wonder how that story ended. Blessings trE
Haha. Thank you! I had a great weekend last weekend!
I was informed it’s actually not “Canadian Geese”, it’s “Canada Geese” or “Canada Goose”, and I made the change when I learned of this. Here’s a Wikipedia link.
Oh what an amazing weekend you had trE. My, my how time flies when you’re having fun! Cast iron cornbread is simply the best! 🥘 Oh, and that little Jernee! 😍💖🥰
Tre, I fear I must jump in and correct you — those are CANADA GEESE, not Canadian geese. The Canadians are very touchy about that. At least, one ranger from Canada’s fish and wildlife service, who was speaking to a group of tourists we were with, and who gave us a ten minute lecture on how the name of the goose has nothing to do with the name of our great northern neighbor (this was after an American asked why Canada allowed these “Canadian geese” to come south and poop all over everywhere — thanks, dude, you pissed off the Canadians *and* made the US look stupid [again]).
Anyway, I don’t want you to get into trouble with Canada.
Cast iron skillet cornbread! Oh my Goodness!

Haha. My buddy Jack, in a comment above, made me aware. From there, I looked it up myself. We both stand corrected. Lol.

Haha. Canada better stay right where they are if they know what’s good for them. 😆😂🤣 Nah, I’ll make the change.
Thank you, Jack! I’m always eager to learn something new, and I appreciate this bit of info!

And I know you would never want to offend anyone — certainly not Canadians! (Well, the wildlife rangers, anyway. 😉)

Exactly! I surely would not! Thank you again! The change has been made. 😊

Your dinner made me hungry…I didnt know onions went in coleslaw, lol. Not in mine.
That honey cornbread sounds divine though!!
