I will share “Something To Think About” for the next fourteen weeks on Sunday afternoons. It may be a quote, a picture, an interesting phrase I heard, artwork, etc. Whatever I share will surely be intriguing or involving enough to spark a casual discussion or in-depth conversation. Stay tuned every Sunday for this new feature!
Peace and blessings.
Have you gotten your copy of my new book: a collection of serial tales & flash fiction, Séduire (E-Book and Paperback) yet?
I have three that, for some reason, love chilling under my car at work. Every evening I get off, they’re just there hanging out, shooting the breeze. I’ve started leaving little treats for them now. At least they keep the iguanas away.

But don’t think he’s distracted, he knows when to run for cover when danger approaches.

Oh, I am sure of it! It was the FIRST TIME ever a squirrel allowed me to photograph it. They usually scurry off in such a hurry. They’re such interesting creatures to me, though.

There’s so much we can learn from the plants and animals around us.

When I lived in New York I had this squirrel that always came to my window, eventually I bought it some peanuts to eat because it was looking kinda skinny. I fed that little thing everyday until I moved. They definitely hustle.

They do! They’re going to find a way to survive. Thank you for feeding it regularly.
I wonder how it maintained after you moved. I’m sure it charmed someone else into feeding it.

I have often wondered as well, I really hope someone else is feeding it. It was so well mannered, and adorable. I know some people are scared of them and think of them as rats, so I worry sometimes. But hopefully it is doing well, still hustling about.

I made friends with squirrels at my old house. I gave them water and snacks 🙂

Thank you kindly. I was happy to catch an actual squirrel in action. Usually, they scurry away from us human beings. I don’t blame them!

Love the photo, trE and your verse. A meal, well-earned makes it all that more delicious! (I almost shared a squirrel photo today. 😊)

We don’t have squirrels or chipmunks in Australia.

And we DEF have a ton of chipmunks here. I remember you saying there weren’t any chipmunks in Australia a few years back.
You guys have kangaroos, wallabies, koala bears, etc., instead.

We sure do. I saw five kangaroos yesterday when I walked the dog. She was good and didn’t bark at them, and they were only a few yards from us.

I used to see squirrels when I lived in the city Tre.
Round here, all we have are seagulls which I am not a big fan of🙄
However, if I am up during the small hours, I sometimes see a fox sniffing around 😉
Love your poem.

Aww, I’ve only seen a fox twice. But I get to see my fair share of deer, groundhogs, and possums. 🩵❤️💜

Never thought about their behavior in this manner.

Yup, they’re always preparing for the future; wasting nothing. A squirrel, if it drops an acorn, will do everything to retrieve that acorn and get it back in the pile.
I’ve had many days to just sit and watch squirrels. They’re highly entertaining. Lol.

They’re quite entertaining little animals. This one wasn’t afraid at all–it didn’t run away when we walked by, just kept eating its breakfast like, “Oh . . . you’re walking by? Cool. I found some acorns in this rubbish, gonna enjoy this.” LOL!
