Would you like to help us name it?!
One of my dearest friends, Poohbs, decided to send a gift for Zumi Tye along with the items I purchased from her website. When I opened the box housing the items that would now be new features in our home, this little buddy had been wrapped separately and packaged along with everything.
I have placed the new addition in Zumi Tye’s terrarium to see how Zumi takes to it, and well… So far, Zumi hasn’t really paid much attention to it. I’m sure Zuse probably senses that it’s a toy or not a living being, but I still want to see how Zuse reacts to its presence over the next few days.
Naming things is typically my claim to semi-fame, but I would appreciate some input from all of you. I have listed three potential names for Zumi’s new friend. Which of the three should this lovely beauty of a toy be saddled with?
- Cricket
- Charlley
- Coral
I hope you’ve enjoyed the photo montage I’ve created of Zumi Tye and such a wonderfully colored toy sea turtle. I’ll update everyone after the new year on which name I have selected, taking into account the input from all of you in the comments.

I’d go for Cricket or another Z name such as Zillah, Zarinah or Zula. I know people with all of those names.

What a delightful post! 🐢 I love seeing Zumi Tye’s little reactions, it’s so fun to watch pets (or in this case, terrarium friends) explore new additions. Honestly, I think “Coral” suits that beautiful toy sea turtle perfectly, but “Cricket” and “Charlley” are cute too! I can’t wait to see which name Zumi Tye’s new buddy ends up with. Your photo montage really brought a smile to my face, such a sweet moment captured!

I’ll add my vote for Charlley. That was my imaginary friend’s name when I was young.
I just looked up turtle senses and they seem to have very good eyesight but maybe because it doesn’t move, Zumi doesn’t care.

I think Zumi believes it’s a dead sea turtle, versus a toy. I didn’t know how smart turtles and tortoises were until I got Zumi.
I tell you one thing, Zuse is certainly particular about the living space; that terrarium is everything to Zumi, and I doubt Zuse really wants to share it.

Too cool, trE! As for a name, considering my very first pet when I was a little kid was a tiny red-eared slider turtle I named Charlie Brown, I suppose I’d go with Charley. 😎
