Fandango’d the ticket for Sinners
for this morning at the
theater up the block.
a friend of mine has been
waiting for me to see it so
we can discuss it.
she’s anxious to know my thoughts,
but I haven’t movie’d in a while;
a little over two years, to be exact.
theaters make me feel out of
place… the awkward
coughs, people who talk
when the movie begins, cell
phones ringing when they should
be on silent.
my nerves usually become
so worked up, I find it hard to focus
on the movie.
therefore, if I go, I show up
early in the morning, a Sunday,
preferably, when most people
are God’ng themselves to death.
and that’s what I’ll do
today. when I have
had my fill of a movie that
has The Green Mile of hype, I’ll
come home to get a little
more God, too.
Yeah I used to enjoy the theatre but now I struggle going!

It’s sad, I still ain’t got see this movie. 🍿 I am ashamed, I am going Tuesday night.
Thanks for the reminder.

You’re welcome. But there’s nothing for you to be ashamed about, really. I hope you enjoy it. I truly do. To me, it doesn’t live up to the hype at all. It’s a good movie, but it’s not spectacular.

Oh gosh trE, I concur with your movie experience. Pre-Covid we would go to the movies, since my hubbie is a movie buff, but it’s been a while since we’ve been too. I wanted to go see Sinners, but since I saw your lackluster review 😂😜🤣 I’ll wait for it to stream on Tubi! 😍

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a good movie, to me, it just doesn’t live up to the hype it’s getting. I wasn’t moved. I didn’t feel like I was having a grand experience.
My first time seeing Black Panther was memorable. I was excited and moved and invigorated. This just kinda made me upset that I got up and out of my home for it. 😂🤣😆

Honey trE, I get it. I need to have an experience that makes me continue to think and talk about it long after I’ve seen it. Not simply, “Meh!” 🤦🏻♀️

I love this! My husband did the movies ALL…THE…TIME when we were first dating. Now, we went to the movies a few weeks ago and it was the first time in years! Streaming movies at home is a much more ideal setting for us. Hope you enjoyed the movie! I haven’t seen it but I heard it’s really good.

I could’ve waited for it to start streaming at home. It was good, but to me, it doesn’t live up to ALL the hype. Lol.

That already left the theater near me, I’ll stream it through Fandango when I can.

Yeah, save your money. IMHO, Lovecraft Country is five times better.
Sinners doesn’t live up to ALL the hype, but it’s a great movie, but it didn’t make my jaws drop. I was not in awe at all.

Oh bummer.

Haha. It wasn’t something I would pay to see in the theater after I got there. Lol. I was like, “Hmm, I could’ve just waited for this to start streaming somewhere.” It’s a good movie, the hype is just too much for it, though. It definitely doesn’t live up to the hype. But Wunmi Mosaku did the damn thing, though! I love her!
