Winston (AKA Winnie) is Jernee Timid’s friend. I speak about him in “smelling death,” which is a poem I have included in Scattered Words. He is such a sweet boy, and he loves to give me full-body hugs. I know he misses Jernee; he looks around me as if he’s searching for her tiny body to greet him. It warms my heart and breaks it at the same time. Sunday, January 25, 2026. Photo Credit: Tremaine L. Loadholt

  • Enjoying those photographs trE! 😊 You guys got a little more ice than we did! 🥶 Temps are rising and the ice is slowly melting. I can deal with the snow, but it’s the ice that’ll get ya! 🧊 Stay safe!

    • We only got 2 inches of snow, but we got a 1/2 inch of ice, and lemme tell you… it was hard clearing my car this morning, but I am glad to have it done. There’s another system moving in for this weekend, and we’re not going to be anywhere near done having this stuff melt by then because of the frigid temperatures.

Thank you. You be safe and stay warm as well.

      • Honey trE, I guess Momma Nature is going to have her way, no matter what. 🎿❄⛄ You’re right about the refreezing, because they are talking about that on the weather reports about these upcoming conditions.

Just stay safe sistah! This too shall pass! 🧣🧥🧤

    • Aww. My next door neighbor came over Saturday night to get some cookies, and she doted on Zumi for at least 20 minutes, and she’s not a reptile person AT ALL.

      Thank you! 🩵💜💛

  • Yucky weather, baby!
If there was ice and snow, I wouldn’t be caught dead outside, as it is it’s 25° and I’m not wanting to leave the blankets, but I am up and about with the dogs this morning.
With Dave back to work, I have to take them to potty.
It was still dark and frigid when that happened this morning. 🥶
You be careful and stay warm!
You looked pensive in that shot with your hair wrapped. Maybe you were thinking about what to make for dinner. It sure sounded yummy!

    • We ended up getting 2 inches of snow and a 1/2 inch of ice.

I’m outside now, in my car warming it up so that I can de-snow/ice it. This is the part that I hate the most. 🤣😂😆

      Thank you!
