A lamentation

Fifteen minutes isn’t enough
time to say goodbye to
a best friend.
It’s light work.
A chit-chat session.
An offering for small talk.
I needed forever.
I didn’t get it.
Life is a reminder that
we all meet our demise.
No one is exempt.
My mind knows this.
It has processed the definitive
inevitability of an end date
one thousand times, but
my heart?!
My heart is still on pause.
I worry… how long will
it remain in limbo
while everything else within
me moves without stopping?
Have you gotten your copy of my new book: a collection of serial tales & flash fiction, Séduire (E-Book and Paperback) yet?
I recently signed up to write on Substack as well. Poking the Bear’s Belly for Fun is a place of healing as I speak about the most recent events with a previous place of employment, as it pertains to racism and discrimination, growth from the transition after resigning from that company, and life’s foibles and overall experiences. I welcome your visit.

Hi trE! I am well, thank you. I’m a little frustrated with the new platform (well, not so new I guess). Can’t seem to get photos to upload. Any suggestions?

I don’t have any issues with the photos, so I’m unsure of what’s happening on your end. There is a block form now for the editor, the classic way of doing things no longer exists. It’s been that way for some years.
Here’s a basic rundown of it. The editor has changed slightly since this video was released, but it really depends on what you’re using now as the app. WordPress app is generally not in play, it’s through the Jetpack app. This should be helpful for your desktop/laptop or phone.

This is a very touching poem, Tre. The heart does feel like it’s in limbo when we lose someone we love. Such an apt line.
My thoughts, hugs, and prayers, my friend.

I hope you all enjoyed yourselves! *Big hugs* October 12th will be one full month since she’s been gone. October 11th is my late cousin, Chrissy’s birthday. October will be a bit of a hurdle, but I’ll make it through.

Still more hugs for you. October is a big/sad month for our family. A niece lost her stillborn son on the 1st of October, and they named him October.
