Remember my “Throwbacks” piece published in The Drabble? Well, lovely people, I found my record player, and I purchased four used records to get my record collection started.
You’ll see before you, Zhané’s Request Line (several versions), Anita Baker’s, Same Ole Love (365 Days A Year), Roberta Flack’s Blue Lights in the Basement, and Commodores’ Midnight Magic, and I’m incredibly happy right now . . . beyond words, happy.

some throwback music
passing the sweet time tonight
just falling in love
I wish each of you a wondrous Friday night with a fantastic weekend ahead. Peace and blessings, beautiful people.

I had quite the record collection of late but turntable number 2 stopped working so I got rid of em all. The Beatles, The Ohio Players, Issac Hayes, Jefferson Starship, The Partridge Family to name a few.

Oh, man! I’m sorry your second turntable stopped working. 😢 Goodness, I would’ve cried, I’m sure, if I had to get rid of all my albums.

I miss my parents’ collection when I was growing up. They had some great finds; Prince, The Police, LaBelle, Stevie Wonder, Hall & Oates, Sister Sledge, and so many more. I wish they didn’t have to split up. Those records are long gone now.

Congrats on the new turntable, trE! Brings back memories of my 16th birthday when I got my first stereo (AM/FM, turntable, cassette and 8-track…yes, 8-track–it was too long ago!). Enjoy those LPs and I sincerely hope you find many more to add to your collection. 🙂

Oh, I plan to be on the hunt for at least three more in about two weeks. LOL. My dad had an 8-track player and tons of records and 45s. I got my love of music from my parents. They had an old antique hi-fi record player and I loved that thing.
And thank you!

Although my musical tastes veered more towards guitar-oriented hard rock/metal/blues, I have to commend you on the Commodores album. Man, those guys had some amazing songs, and I have a couple of Commodores/Lionel Ritchie greatest hits albums in my old collection. I can’t even tell you how many 45s I wore out back in the day. Music was HUGE to me then and it still is, even though I can’t appreciate it like I used to (deafness). I’ve always got songs in my head. I’m excited for you! 🙂
